About Us

 Holiday House Animal Rescue

Holiday House was built out of love and a vision for the welfare of animals. A deep desire to be able to do something about the suffering and mistreatment being witnessed, and so piece by piece our founder, Rhonda, researched and put it together with the unending support of her partner and co-founder, Mark. The animals that come through here are cherished, shown love, and respect before forever homes are chosen for them or they become a sanctuary animal. We make them a promise that we will do our very best to ensure that they never have to be rescued again.

Mission Statement

Our mission at Holiday House is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home or provide permanent sanctuary for at-risk animals with resolute ethical standards, prioritizing the emotional and physical well-being of every pet in our care.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to establish an educated, cruelty-free community where preventative care and responsible guardianship eliminate animal neglect, abuse, and homelessness, making organizational rescue and rehabilitation unnecessary.

So how will we accomplish these goals?

Through three core areas: rescue + rehab, community, and operational excellence.

Rehab + Rescue

The bread and butter of the organization. We will rescue animals from the streets, shelters, and surrenders. All animals will be fully vaccinated, altered, microchipped, and receive all vet care they need to ensure they are healthy. All animals will also receive force/fear free R+ training while in foster and all dogs will all be provided training upon adoption through a certified Force/Fear Free training professional. Training for other types of animals will be provided as needed.

Behavior is one of the major reasons for surrender and frustration surrounding pets. We will do our best to eliminate that source of frustration by providing training and support.

Community

Our goals for efforts in the community include delivering free monthly workshops on fear free training as well as responsible pet guardianship. We would love to open a pet food pantry or have an application process for scholarships to help people keep wanted pets in their home by providing veterinary care, food and supplies, or training assistance. Eventually we would love to sponsor four spay/neuter and vaccine clinics per year in areas that need it.

Currently our community efforts include feeding and trapping the dumped dogs in areas of town, as well as a backpack program providing food and supplies to unhoused individuals and their pets.

Operational Excellence

Our commitment to operational excellence is three fold.

The first and most important is a commitment to superior care standards. For both the people and pets in our organization, so having training available for fosters and volunteers to ensure they feel supported while working with our rescue. Ensuring the animals receive the best of care meeting the five freedoms and beyond that, to meet the five domains for optimal well-being.

We have a commitment to accountability including data integrity, financial transparency, and accurate impact reports. We want our supporters to see exactly who and what objectives they are supporting.

And a matching program to ensure that adopters and fosters are matched to an animal that is within their ability of training and other care considerations. Rather than focusing on high numbers of adoptions or animals in foster, we are choosing to focus on quality long term placements by carefully considering applications and the animals best interests.

We do not take these goals or this mission lightly. We value the lives of these animals, and we want to provide a life that is the best for them. We also value the efforts of our fosters, volunteer, and supporters. Whether you share our posts, volunteer your time, open your home, or donate we hope that you know how appreciated your contribution is and how thankful we are for the support and encouragement. We are building a community here of people striving to work towards that vision statement we shared. And we are so glad that you are here for it.
